Alta Mira offers Intensive Outpatient Programs for clients and families seeking individualized counseling, therapy, education, structure and support in a non-residential environment. Located within walking distance from our residential program in Sausalito, California and just minutes from San Francisco, we offer a full range of customizable outpatient services including the following:

- Intensive Morning and Evening Outpatient Program

Alta Mira’s Outpatient Programs offer the same “Above and Beyond” approach to providing outpatient services as we do in our world class residential programs. Here are some of the unique components of our outpatient program:
Full Day Treatment
- 2-3 individual therapy sessions per week
- Daily process group therapy
- Weekly family therapy sessions
- Psychological testing on all clients
- Psychiatric evaluations on dual diagnosis clients
- Customized treatment planning

- Life and work skills enhancement workshops
- Job, school, volunteer placement assistance
- Personality testing
- Medically supervised outpatient detoxification

Morning and Evening Outpatient

Admission Criteria
The ideal candidate for outpatient service must meet the following admission criteria:
Day Treatment
- Ability to abstain for the duration of the program
- Mild to moderate, non life-threatening withdrawal symptoms not requiring 24 hour supervision or hospitalization
- History of moderate to severe pattern of substance abuse or dependence with some periods of abstinence
- Ability to participate in the clinical and therapeutic activities
- Has a desire to be clean and sober but requires intensive level or structure, accountability and support
- Is being transitioned into day treatment following the completion of in-patient or residential treatment
Morning and Evening Outpatient
- Ability to abstain for duration of program
- Mild non-life-threatening withdrawal symptoms not requiring intensive supervision or hospitalization
- History of mild to moderate pattern of substance abuse or dependence with some periods of abstinence
- Is being transitioned to a lower level of care following the completion of residential or day treatment
