Bridget Huston, PhD
Primary Therapist
Bridget Huston, PsyD, recently began her journey at Constellation Behavioral Health as a primary therapist at Alta Mira Recovery Programs. As a student, Bridget’s clinical work centered around clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, while her research focused on effective treatments for Complex PTSD.
Bridget earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, and earned her BLA at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. During her clinical training in 2017-18, she co-led a group in an intensive outpatient center in Berkeley, CA with Stewart Bryant, who became a primary therapist at Alta Mira in 2022. Bridget trained in medication-assisted treatment centers, community mental health settings, and neuropsychological assessment before graduating in June 2022. Her postdoctoral training as assistant to the clinical director for a community mental health clinic in Berkeley, CA included training new clinicians to work therapeutically and treat mental health symptoms for individuals with varying substance use disorders.
Due to the time Bridget spent working in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, she has a unique understanding of the severity of untreated substance use disorders as well as experience working with individuals escaping domestic violence, severe instability, and complex trauma. This guided her through a clinical doctoral program by focusing on what is truly effective for people with intersecting identities and unique treatment needs. Bridget’s approach integrates evidence-based therapy with a focus on empowerment through acceptance and behavioral changes to help clients connect with joy and meaning as they recover from substance use disorders.
