Sonya Johnson
Director of Health Services
Sonya Johnson began working at Alta Mira in 2023 as an on-call detox nurse. Sonya holds the following degrees: LVN, Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration, and Congressional Health Nurse.
In the past, she has held positions as VP of Operations/Clinical, Executive Director, Regional Health and Wellness Director, and Director of Risk Management. Sonya has over 25 years of health care experience as well as six years of experience in behavioral health in corrections.
She is an author and in the past speaker for Women’s Empowerment, health topics, and abuse. Sonya has 5 kids and has been married for 19 years. She is passionate about the mental and physical care of others and takes pride in what she does, leading with compassion. Her moto is ” You have to go through it, to get to it”.
