Samuel McFarland AMFT, SUDCC
Samuel McFarland is a substance use disorder certified counselor (SUDCC) and is a BBS registered associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT) in the expressive arts. He has an immense appreciation for eastern philosophies and is a student of Buddhism who incorporates Buddhist principles like mindfulness into his practice. Work with Samuel will incorporate playing with metaphor and reclaiming one’s story through multi-modal expressive art modalities to promote overall well-being. His lens is client-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed therapy. He pulls from many schools of thought but is drawn to systemic therapy, family systems, relational-multicultural therapy, and narrative therapy. Samuel is committed to being an artist and creator, a loving, supportive, and present partner, and dad. He is committed to being an agent of change through social justice, community activism, and being an ally to marginalized communities.
